Here are trends the professionals say homeowners have steered clear of in 2015.

Number 6: Over the Range Microwaves

Putting a microwave over a range was always considered a space saving option. When microwaves first came onto the market, people simply placed them on their counters. We have learned that placed above the range is not always the most attractive, safest or best ergonomic option. People started putting microwaves over the kitchen range about 20 or 25 years ago, but we are quickly seeing this placement no longer desirable to homeowners.
Homeowners are interested in style and the popularity of open-concept kitchens is also prompting more homeowners to choose stylish range hoods that are nicer to look at from the family room. Plus, as technology continues to evolve we are seeing more user friendly options that do not require the cook to remove hot items at levels above their heads or over hot cook tops.
Replace it with: A microwave drawer installed underneath the counter top.
