Here are trends the professionals say homeowners have steered clear of in 2015.

Number 2: Children's Bedrooms with Televisions

Parents are becoming more and more aware that too much television is not good for children. The trend of having televisions in children's rooms continues to decrease and is expected to continue to do so in the future.

I understand TV isn't a design a feature, but it is a focal point and takes up space in a room. Create other focal points to encourage other activities in the room. A large desk in the room with built in. Possibly a wall painted in chalk board paint or magnetic wallpaper for hanging art and posters or simply a reading space. Consider if your home might be re-sold to another family and these extra touched could help potential buyers see their children in those spaces.

Replace it with: A play space, bookshelf or something that will spark kids' imaginations.
