The thought of remodeling or building a home, usually evokes one of two emotions..... excitement or fear. Most people do not even know where to start. Or they have ideas but need some direction.

Building Location:

You think you found the perfect location to build your dream home. Before your heart is set on a location there are many factors you need to take into consideration. Keep in mind a sloped lot is more expensive than a flat lot. Also think about utility costs, commute, school district and crime rate. Drive around the surrounding area, checking for convenience to interstates, schools, shopping and restaurants. Educate yourself with the building requirements and building costs for that area. Will the type or style of house you want fit on the lot or do you need to get creative. Do you already have plans? Most people do not realize how critical this stage of the building process is until it is too late.
